Medium Dark Roast

Grown on small farms in Papua New Guinea's Simbai region at elevations of 1,600 to 1,900 meters, this coffee is washed and dried on patios high in one of the most remote coffee-growing areas on earth. There are no roads into Simbai — every bag is flown out by small aircraft, the only link between this region and the outside world. That isolation has kept farming traditions here largely untouched, and locals take pride in growing exceptional coffee on their own terms, far from the rest of the world. In the cup: dried fig, green grape, plum, green tea, cocoa powder, and roasted hazelnut — a complex, layered coffee as distinctive as the place it comes from.
